The Opportunity

Join our team at the University of the Sunshine Coast as a Senior Business Analyst, where you'll lead the analysis of complex business processes, systems, and structures. You’ll be instrumental in identifying business requirements and driving improvements through thoughtful business change and process optimisation. In this key role, you'll document both current and future state maps, highlighting areas for operational excellence. Your expertise will guide high-level consultations with stakeholders across the organisation, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives. Your work will shape the future by delivering detailed reports, insightful recommendations, and facilitating effective communication and training to ensure the success of projects and continuous process improvement.

You will

  • drive impactful business analysis to transform complex processes, systems, and structures, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative solutions that enhance business performance;
  • craft essential project artefacts such as business cases, functional specifications, test plans, and communication strategies, ensuring smooth project delivery and clear stakeholder engagement; and
  • shape the future of key digital projects by managing integration requirements to optimise solutions, driving efficiency and effectiveness across the organisation.

You're a passionate problem-solver with a talent for understanding complex business needs and turning them into clear, actionable solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure projects run smoothly and effectively. With your expertise in business analysis, you’re able to dive deep into processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead change management efforts that make a real impact. You're a clear communicator, adept at translating complex data and user requirements into easy-to-understand insights. Your drive for continuous improvement means you keep up with the latest trends and ensure our solutions are always ahead of the curve. Above all, you're someone who fosters positive connections across teams and ensures that projects not only meet but exceed expectations.

You will possess:

  • Proven experience with strong analytical skills, particularly in working with student information systems, research management systems, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • A solid background in planning, developing, integrating, and implementing digital systems, applications, and services, preferably within the higher education sector.
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on leading digital impact assessments and risk mitigation to enhance business processes.
  • A talent for managing multiple tasks and delivering successful outcomes on time, all while building and maintaining collaborative relationships across and beyond the organisation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly convey ideas, engage different stakeholder groups, and gain buy-in across the organisation.
  • Experience with, or knowledge of, industry best practices and frameworks such as ITIL 4.0, COBIT, NIST CSF, Agile, TOGAF, PRINCE2, DEVOPS, Six Sigma, and BPMN will be highly regarded.
  • It will be high regarded if you possess skills and experience in cybersecurity programs including but not limited to; DLP, SOC, IDAM.
