The Opportunity

Join us as a Project Manager at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where you will lead the delivery of strategic IT projects. Your role will encompass consulting with stakeholders to define project requirements, offering expert guidance, and ensuring seamless communication and training throughout project implementation. You will adeptly manage project risks, uphold quality assurance standards, and integrate effective organisational change management strategies to enhance project adoption. Your responsibilities will include generating regular progress reports, overseeing procurement activities, and providing strategic recommendations to ensure the successful execution of IT initiatives.

You will

  • lead the delivery of IT projects that align with strategic goals, meet business needs, and stay on track;
  • identify and manage project risks, working closely with stakeholders to find solutions and keep things moving forward; and
  • ensure seamless integration of IT solutions to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall impact

You will possess:

  • Extensive experience in analysing complex systems, with knowledge of student information, research management, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Strong background in planning, developing, and integrating digital technology, ideally within a higher education setting.
  • Sharp business acumen with the ability to lead digital impact assessments, manage risks, and improve business processes.
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects, coordinating teams, and building strong collaborative relationships to drive successful outcomes.
  • Proven experience working with vendors and commercial partners, with a solid understanding of procurement and contract management within GITC frameworks.
  • Excellent communicator who can engage diverse stakeholders, convey complex information clearly, and gain buy-in for ideas.
  • Well-versed in industry frameworks and best practices, including ITIL 4.0, COBIT, NIST CSF, Agile, TOGAF, PRINCE2, DEVOPS, and Six Sigma.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of knowledge and experience in the planning and delivery of IT projects including but not limited to cyber security, network infrastructure and transitioning applications and systems to the cloud, whilst making sure IT solutions are effective and fit for purpose
