The Opportunity
Based within UniSC’s Academic Support Unit, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated procurement professional to lead the delivery of specialist procurement services that support teaching and research across all campuses. In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient procurement of regulated and high-risk goods including chemicals, medicines, laboratory consumables, and specialist equipment.
Working as part of the Technical Operations team, you will coordinate procurement activity across multiple locations, support operational planning, and collaborate closely with the Strategic Procurement Unit to refine processes and enhance supplier relationships. Your work will help ensure the safe and uninterrupted delivery of research and teaching activities, while also contributing to the university’s compliance and risk management efforts.
You’ll join a team committed to service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping procurement practices at a growing institution, where your leadership, compliance knowledge, and initiative will be highly valued.
You are an experienced procurement leader with a strong background in managing complex or regulated purchasing environments. You bring a collaborative approach, attention to compliance, and a commitment to service quality. Your ability to lead change, manage teams, and develop efficient procurement processes makes you a trusted advisor to both operational and academic stakeholders. With strong organisational and communication skills, you balance competing demands while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and accountability.
