Join the School of Health at the University of the Sunshine Coast as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology, where you'll inspire and lead alongside a team of dedicated educators. We're looking for a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in treating children/adolescents or PTSD, renowned for their clinical research in evidence-based therapies. Your expertise in postgraduate Clinical Psychology teaching and supervision will be pivotal as you contribute to and lead our academic programs. You'll play a key role in the psychology clinic, a cornerstone of mental health services for the Sunshine Coast community and an advanced hub for teaching and research in postgraduate psychology at UniSC. You will:

  • lead innovative courses, mentor students and staff, and shape the future of psychology education;
  • produce high-quality research, secure grants, and guide the next generation of researchers;
  • contribute to governance, mentoring, and initiatives that enhance teaching, research, and student experience; and
  • partner with industry and the community to translate research into meaningful impact.

About you:

Our ideal candidate is a dedicated educator, researcher, and academic who is committed to making a meaningful impact. You’re passionate about teaching and supporting students, bringing fresh ideas to curriculum design, and using innovative approaches to enhance learning. Your research is focused and influential, contributing to knowledge in your field through publications, grants, and collaboration. You build strong connections within the university and beyond, working with industry, community, and research partners to create real-world impact. Above all, you foster a positive, inclusive academic environment where learning and engagement thrive.

You will possess:

  • An APAC accredited doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (DPsych Clin, PhD Clin, or MPsychClin + PhD)
  • Extensive experience supervising postgraduate students in a Master of Psychology (Clinical) program.
  • Full registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and significant experience in child/adolescent or trauma-based therapies.
  • Board-Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • An active research program in child/adolescent mental health or trauma-based interventions, with recognised contributions, quality outputs, and effective research supervision.
  • Experience mentoring early career researchers and contributing to research leadership.
  • A strong teaching record, including curriculum development, quality teaching practice, and recognition for excellence.
  • A collaborative and supportive leadership approach that fosters a positive academic environment.
  • Experience in academic administration, such as program or degree coordination.
  • The ability to build meaningful partnerships that benefit students, the community, and the university.
