The School of Science, Technology and Engineering at UniSC is seeking applications for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering. You will:

  • deliver engaging learning experiences and contribute to curriculum development, helping students achieve strong graduate outcomes;
  • build your research profile through collaboration, publications, grant contributions, and supervision of honours and research students;
  • actively participate in School and University activities that strengthen our community and student experience; and
  • begin to foster industry and community connections that add value to your teaching, research, and student engagement.

As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will also:

  • Lead teaching initiatives, including course and program coordination, curriculum design, and mentoring of colleagues, with a focus on continuous improvement;
  • Drive impactful research recognised through quality publications, grants, collaboration, and effective supervision of Higher Degree by Research candidates;
  • Take on broader leadership roles within the School and University, contributing to governance and capacity-building; and
  • Grow and leverage strong industry and community partnerships that create meaningful opportunities and outcomes for students, partners, and UniSC.

About you:

You're someone who brings your subject to life with curiosity, care and a genuine commitment to learning. You will possess:

  • A doctoral qualification in electrical and renewable energy engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent standing.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, ideally in areas like renewable energy, microgrids and smart grids, with a focus on engaging delivery, well-designed assessment, and collaborative program and course coordination.
  • Potential to build a research profile or an emerging record of outputs in hydrogen, energy storage, distributed generation and smart grids, including publications, collaborative projects or research student supervision.
  • A collegial approach and personal attributes that support a positive and high-achieving academic environment for both staff and students.
  • Willingness to contribute to academic administration, such as course or program coordination.
  • Professional membership or engagement with relevant industry or community groups.
  • A commitment to ongoing academic development and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
  • The ability to build and sustain productive partnerships that benefit students, community and university.

As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will also possess

  • A strong and proven track record of effective teaching, leadership in course development and coordination, and a commitment to continuous improvement in learning and teaching.
  • An established program of research in renewable energy or a related area, with evidence of outputs, funding or higher degree student completions.
  • Leadership in fostering an inclusive, collaborative academic culture and contributing meaningfully to university governance and external engagement.
