Here’s your opportunity to take the lead in shaping the future of civil engineering at UniSC. As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, you’ll contribute to the development and delivery of our new Master of Engineering and play a key role in teaching across our undergraduate programs. You will:

  • Deliver engaging teaching that supports strong student outcomes;
  • Develop your research through projects, publications, grants and student supervision;
  • Contribute to University life through governance, school activities and enhancing the student experience; and

As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will also

  • Lead teaching initiatives by coordinating programs and developing innovative curricula;
  • Maintain a strong research record with quality publications, funding success and research supervision;
  • Contribute strategically to School and University development and governance; and
  • Strengthen partnerships with industry and community to create real-world benefits.

You will possess:

  • A doctoral qualification (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, preferably in stormwater, hydrology, and hydraulics, with skills in course design, assessment, and collaborative program coordination.
  • The potential to establish a strong research profile through publications, grant applications, research supervision, and meaningful impact.
  • Personal qualities that foster a positive, inclusive academic environment supportive of staff and student success.
  • Experience contributing to academic administration and program coordination.
  • Active membership or strong connections with professional bodies and community groups relevant to your discipline.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to grow as an academic.
  • The ability to develop and lead partnerships regionally, nationally and internationally that benefit students, the community, and the University.

As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will also possess

  • A proven track record of effective teaching and leadership in your discipline, including curriculum innovation and program management.
  • An established research record demonstrated by quality publications, successful grant applications, and supervision of higher degree research candidates.
  • The capacity to contribute strategically to School and University governance and development.
  • Recognised professional standing with strong networks that support collaboration and impact across academic and industry communities.
