The Opportunity

Bring your passion for Pharmacology to UniSC! The School of Health is seeking an inspiring and dedicated educator to develop and deliver engaging Introductory Pharmacology courses for students in Allied Health and Biomedical Science programs. Based within the Biomedical Science discipline, you’ll also contribute to the School’s vibrant research culture by building a complementary research program aligned with our existing strengths. You will:

  • contribute to learning and teaching practices within the pharmacology discipline;
  • undertake high-impact research;
  • supervise honours students and HDR candidates; 
  • play a part in successful research grant applications; and 
  • contribute to governance, coordination of and participation in the school capacity-building activities, and activities that contribute to the student experience.

About you:

Our ideal candidate will bring expertise in pharmacology, paired with a genuine passion for teaching and learning. Known for your clear communication and student-first mindset, you create engaging and supportive learning environments that foster success. You bring strong pedagogical knowledge and use innovative teaching methods to deliver meaningful learning experiences. Skilled in assessment and feedback, you design fair, effective evaluations to guide student progress. Adaptable and responsive to diverse learning needs, you stay current with emerging trends in education and are committed to ongoing professional growth through research, workshops, and collaboration.

You will possess:

  • completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
  • proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
  • membership and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups;
  • sound and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position; and
  • evidence of participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic.

Desirable

  • experience undertaking academic administrative functions, e.g. course coordination, within a University.
