The Opportunity

As a Lecturer in Paramedicine, you will deliver high-quality teaching that inspires and empowers students while supporting graduate readiness and career outcomes. You will contribute to curriculum design, teaching delivery, and assessment practices, integrating evidence-based research and fostering innovative approaches to learning. Additionally, you will engage in research, establish industry and community partnerships, and participate in academic leadership and governance activities that enhance the School’s profile.

You will:

  • Deliver innovative, high-quality teaching, curriculum development, and assessment in paramedicine, supporting students to achieve successful graduate outcomes;
  • Contribute to research activities, including publications, grant applications, and supervision of honours students; and
  • Build and maintain strong industry and community partnerships, enhancing student learning, research impact, and professional engagement.

About you:

You are a dedicated academic with a passion for paramedicine education, committed to providing engaging and effective learning experiences. You are developing your research profile and contribute to the wider academic community through teaching, research, and outreach. You collaborate effectively, fostering a positive, inclusive, and professional environment that enhances student outcomes and strengthens the School of Health’s mission.

You will possess:

  • Completion of a relevant degree, postgraduate qualifications, and registration with the Paramedicine Board of Australia;
  • Proven effectiveness as a teacher, including curriculum design, delivery, and assessment in higher education;
  • Demonstrated research experience, including publications and participation in research teams, and supervision of honours students;
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies and engagement with community or industry stakeholders;
  • Strong interpersonal and collegial skills that contribute to a positive academic environment; and
  • Commitment to ongoing academic development and scholarly growth.

Desirable

  • Completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field;
  • Experience in academic administrative functions such as course coordination; and
  • Enrolment in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) in a relevant field.
