We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in child/adolescent therapies or PTSD, and a strong track record in evidence-based clinical research.

As a Lecturer, you will supervise postgraduate students undertaking placements in the School’s psychology clinic, a key provider of mental health services to the Sunshine Coast community and a hub for teaching, training, and research. You will also contribute to course coordination, curriculum development, and the ongoing growth of the Discipline of Psychology’s teaching and research profile.

You will:

  • deliver high-quality teaching, supervision, and clinical training to postgraduate Clinical Psychology students;
  • contribute to curriculum development, course coordination, and the enhancement of teaching and learning practices;
  • develop and maintain a research profile in child/adolescent mental health or trauma-based interventions, including supervision of higher degree research students; and
  • engage with industry, community, and research partners to translate research and teaching into meaningful impact.

About you:

Our ideal candidate is a passionate educator, researcher, and clinician. You bring expertise in clinical psychology practice, postgraduate teaching, and evidence-based research, and are committed to fostering a positive, inclusive academic environment. You are collaborative, innovative, and motivated to make a real difference to students, the discipline of psychology, and the wider community.

You will possess:

  • Completion or near-completion of an APAC-accredited doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (DPsychClin, PhD Clin, or MPsychClin + PhD);
  • Full registration as a Psychologist (Clinical Psychology endorsement) with the Psychology Board of Australia, and experience in child/adolescent therapies or trauma-based interventions;
  • Board-approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia;
  • Experience supervising postgraduate students in Master of Psychology (Clinical) programs;
  • A developing track record of research in child/adolescent mental health or trauma-based treatments/interventions, including publications, research supervision, and research impact;
  • Evidence of effective teaching and curriculum development in relevant clinical areas, supported by student feedback, peer review, or formal recognition; and
  • Strong personal qualities, collegiality, and the ability to foster a positive and engaging academic environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in academic administration (e.g., course coordination);
  • Certification as a Registrar Program Principal Supervisor (Clinical Psychology).
