The Opportunity

UniSC Library Services is a vibrant, innovative, and client-focused environment, committed to enhancing student learning, academic research, and scholarly creativity. We are seeking a professional and proactive Librarian to deliver high-quality library services, provide research and information support, and contribute to Library initiatives and projects.

In this role, you will engage with students, academics, and staff to provide professional advice, develop digital and face-to-face learning resources, and support a culture of continuous improvement. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Library projects and initiatives that advance our strategic goals.

You will

  • provide expert advice and support to students, staff, and other clients in accessing and using Library resources, services, and systems;
  • contribute to the design and delivery of information literacy and research skills programs across undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts;
  • develop, publish, and maintain digital content and learning resources that support Library services, including web content, guides, and multimedia resources; and
  • actively participate in Library initiatives, projects, and continuous improvement activities, supporting a collaborative, inclusive, and high-quality service environment.

About you

You are a client-focused and innovative library professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You thrive in a collaborative, flexible, and evolving academic environment and are committed to enhancing student learning and research outcomes.

You will possess:

  • completion of a relevant degree or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in library, information, or a related discipline, with eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) where applicable;
  • demonstrated experience in advising and supporting clients in the use of print and electronic information resources;
  • experience developing and delivering online and face-to-face learning and research support materials;
  • strong organisational, teamwork, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • proficiency in Microsoft 365 and cloud-based collaborative technologies; and
  • adaptability to meet changing operational requirements in a digital and physical library environment.
