The Opportunity

Join UniSC’s Information Technology (IT) department, a driving force in the University’s digital transformation and a key enabler of teaching, learning, and research excellence. UniSC IT provides critical infrastructure, enterprise systems, and secure digital services to staff and students. The team partners across the University to deliver innovative, reliable, and future-focused technology solutions that support UniSC’s strategic goal of becoming Australia’s premier regional university.

As the IT Vendor and Contract Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring UniSC’s IT vendor and contract management processes are efficient, compliant, and deliver value for money. Working closely with the Senior IT Vendor and Contract Officer and the Manager, IT Business Process Management (ITBPM), you’ll support the full lifecycle of IT contracts — from procurement and negotiation through to performance monitoring and renewal. You’ll assist with software licence administration, vendor performance reporting, and process improvement initiatives that strengthen supplier relationships and enhance IT operations across the University.

You will

  • ensure vendor management and financial processes are followed in accordance with UniSC and procurement frameworks;
  • support IT purchasing, including purchase order and invoice processing
  • manage and track IT contracts through their lifecycle, ensuring compliance and optimal value;
  • support the administration of software licences, renewals, and associated payments; and
  • monitor vendor performance and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve service outcomes.

About you

You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional who takes pride in maintaining efficient systems and processes. With experience in vendor and contract management, you’re comfortable coordinating multiple priorities while ensuring compliance with policy and governance standards. You have strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills, enabling you to build productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers alike. Your focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement makes you a trusted contributor within a dynamic IT environment.

You will possess:

  • Degree qualification and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Experience in vendor and contract management, including tender coordination, contract negotiation, and supplier oversight;
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills, including the ability to build constructive stakeholder relationships; and
  • Sound organisational skills with attention to detail, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Desirable:

  • Procurement qualifications (e.g., Level 3 procurement training, CIPSA accreditation).
  • Knowledge of university policies and state government procurement legislation, or the ability to quickly learn.
