The Opportunity

Join UniSC as our International Business Development Manager and help shape the future of global engagement. In this strategic and high-impact role, you’ll lead international student recruitment across key regions, driving sustainable growth and strengthening UniSC’s presence in priority markets. You’ll develop and execute targeted business development strategies, foster international partnerships, and deliver data-driven insights to support informed decision-making.

Representing UniSC nationally and abroad, you’ll lead a high-performing team, manage diverse recruitment channels, and engage with international stakeholders with confidence and cultural intelligence. You’ll champion UniSC’s global vision, build meaningful relationships across borders, and ensure our recruitment strategies are aligned with emerging market trends and institutional goals. You will

  • drive strategic growth by developing and implementing international student recruitment strategies aligned with UniSC’s broader internationalisation goals;
  • lead market analysis and insights, drawing from multiple data sources to identify trends, assess performance, and provide actionable advice to drive recruitment outcomes;
  • represent UniSC internationally with professionalism and cultural competency, building high-impact relationships with education agents, government agencies, institutions, and other key stakeholders; and
  • manage recruitment performance by overseeing a team of mobile staff and consultants, evaluating effectiveness, and ensuring a strong return on investment from all business development activities.

About you

You're a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of international education markets and a track record of delivering results. You bring energy, cultural awareness, and analytical strength to everything you do. A natural leader and communicator, you're comfortable managing high-performing teams and collaborating across time zones and cultures.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are self-motivated, solutions-focused, and skilled in navigating dynamic and complex environments to deliver on ambitious international student recruitment targets.

You will possess:

  • Qualification (or progress toward completion) in a relevant field and extensive experience in international business development or international student recruitment; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing region-specific business development plans leading to measurable student recruitment growth;
  • Experience in leading high-performing, geographically dispersed teams in a fast-paced, target-driven environment;
  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting market intelligence and reporting against strategic goals;
  • Effective budget and ROI management experience, with a clear understanding of cost-per-acquisition metrics and performance measurement;
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to manage diverse relationships and negotiate strategic partnerships;
  • Deep knowledge of international education systems and qualification frameworks, along with established networks in government, scholarship bodies, and partner institutions; and
  • Understanding of the Australian and international higher education landscape, including compliance with ESOS, TEQSA, and related internationalisation policies and frameworks.

Desirable:

  • Fluency in a language other than English relevant to UniSC’s key international markets;
  • Experience managing the performance of international recruitment partners including education agents and transnational education providers.
