The Opportunity

UniSC’s Information Technology team is a key enabler of the university’s vision to create a better tomorrow through learning, research and community impact. As a strategic partner across corporate, learning and teaching, research and specialist technology domains, IT delivers innovative, secure and forward-looking digital services that support UniSC’s ambition to be Australia’s premier regional university.

Within this environment, the Innovation Enablement Lead plays a central role in shaping UniSC’s digital innovation pipeline. Working closely with the Engagement & Innovation Services team, the Manager, Engagement & Innovation Services and the Enterprise Architect, you will support the identification, development and early-stage adoption of innovative digital solutions. You will help guide ideas from concept to reality, coordinate Solution Review Group activities, and promote the effective use of emerging technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement across the university.

You will

  • support and coordinate the delivery of digital innovation initiatives across the university;
  • support and coordinate the progression of new digital initiatives submission, manage intake, and supporting the transition of approved enterprise solutions, automation and AI initiatives into production; and
  • coordinate and administer Solution Review Group (IT governance) activities including preparing documentation, supporting assessment processes, and contributing to effective IT governance and architectural assurance.

About you

You are a creative and practical technology professional who thrives on turning ideas into outcomes. With broad technical knowledge and hands-on experience, you enjoy exploring emerging technologies and identifying how they can solve real-world business problems. You are confident working with stakeholders at all levels, able to communicate complex concepts clearly, and skilled at inspiring others to think differently. Organised, proactive and adaptable, you balance innovation with governance and are motivated by the opportunity to shape digital transformation in a complex, values-driven higher education environment.

You will possess:

  • a relevant degree in information technology or a related field, with at least four years’ relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and specialist expertise;
  • broad, hands-on experience as a cutting-edge IT practitioner, with strong knowledge across digital technologies and innovation practices;
  • demonstrated experience working with stakeholders to identify, develop and productionise innovative digital solutions;
  • extensive experience developing and delivering technical training and enablement activities, both in person and online;
  • strong business analysis skills, with the ability to visualise and communicate how technology can improve organisational outcomes; and
  • excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute clear, high-quality documentation.
