The Opportunity

Join UniSC’s growing Clinical Trials team to drive the strategy, planning, delivery and success of all in-person and virtual events, creating engaging experiences that elevate our brand and support clinical trial growth.

Please note, this role requires flexibility to travel across clinical trial sites locally, interstate, and internationally as required, along with availability to work outside standard business hours when needed.

You will

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, delivery and evaluation of diverse event activities, including trade events, partner visits, community engagement initiatives, online seminars, launches, open days and university participation events;
  • Manage and coordinate all stakeholders involved in event delivery, including staff, suppliers, contractors and university partners, while providing strategic, tactical and technical leadership to achieve agreed commercial and reputational outcomes; and
  • Support the broader Marketing & Brand team while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, inclusion, safety and professional respect.

About you

You’re an experienced events management professional who thrives in collaborative environments, building strong partnerships and fostering effective cooperation. You exercise sound judgement and engage confidently and sensitively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Highly organised and solutions-focused, you excel at prioritising competing demands, working autonomously, and managing multiple projects simultaneously, while actively contributing to broader team initiatives and shared success.

You will possess:

  • Education and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in marketing, communication or event management, and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience in marketing or event management; 
  • Significant experience in all components of successful event management including planning, logistics, stakeholder engagement, risk management, budget management and evaluation for local, nation and international events. Sponsorship experience will be advantageous but not required;
  • The ability to work in a collaborative style to facilitate cooperation, and the ability to exercise sound judgement in dealing confidently and sensitively with people from a wide range of backgrounds, including partners, Government and university stakeholders;
  • Significant client management skills including a track record of trouble-shooting, thinking laterally in situations where precedents may not be apparent, and taking responsibility to deliver positive outcomes for internal and external clients;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate and required use of cultural protocols, and business and social etiquette in the context of events management, on behalf of UniSC Clinical Trials;
  • Proven track record of compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices; and
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, autonomously manage workloads, drive multiple projects simultaneously, as well as actively contribute to broader team initiatives maintaining a solution focused ethic.
