The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced and adaptable Registered Nurses and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses to join our Clinical Trials team on a casual basis. Reporting to the Clinical Trials Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in planning and delivering safe, high‑quality nursing care for participants involved in clinical research studies.

These roles focus on the care, monitoring, and support of participants undergoing overnight observation and confinement, while ensuring strict adherence to clinical research protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will contribute directly to the delivery of ethically sound research that improves health outcomes and participant experience.

You will

  • Plan and deliver safe and effective nursing care in line with approved clinical research protocols;
  • Support the delivery of high‑quality clinical trials that improve health outcomes and participant experience;
  • Provide clinical and nursing care across multiple research studies simultaneously
  • Undertake clinical trial‑related administrative duties, including data collection, document management, and laboratory sample processing and shipping;
  • Monitor and support participants during overnight observation and confinement periods;
  • Ensure full compliance with UniSC Clinical Trials Centre SOPs, ICH/GCP guidelines, and relevant local, State, and federal policies; and
  • Work collaboratively with clinical, research, and operational staff to maintain high standards of care and safety.

About you

You are a capable, confident nurse with a strong clinical foundation and an interest in research‑based care. You bring a calm, professional approach to your work, are comfortable managing competing priorities, and understand the importance of accuracy, privacy, and compliance in a clinical trial setting. You enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team and are flexible in your approach to shifts and locations.

You will possess:

  • A degree qualification in Nursing with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and diploma qualification;
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, or Enrolled Nurse with medication administration endorsement;
  • Phlebotomy and cannulation training and experience, which is highly regarded;
  • High‑level computing skills, including clinical trial electronic data entry, databases, word processing, and spreadsheets;
  • A sound understanding of privacy principles governing health information; and
  • The ability to travel between sites and work shift work as required for confinement studies.
