The Opportunity

In this role, you will provide strategic procurement and administrative support within the Academic Support Unit (ASU). Your responsibilities will include offering expert guidance and overseeing the coordination, upkeep, and improvement of effective administrative systems, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation of the ASU while contributing to a collaborative and positive team culture. To offer accurate advice, the Administration Officer must possess a strong understanding of the University's structure, programs, financial policies, and operations, applying this knowledge to streamline procurement processes and communication that directly support academic delivery.

You will

  • provide high-level procurement services for the purchase of specialty equipment and consumables to support teaching delivery objectives across the various schools and campuses;
  • liaise with suppliers to ensure that relationships are maintained with a continual aim of ensuring optimised financial contract management, whilst ensuring that UniSC receives value for the goods and services being ordered; and
  • ensure responsible purchasing is performed in line with UniSC, State and Federal regulatory policies.

About you

You deliver exceptional client service with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail. Your excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills enable you to engage professionally with a diverse range of individuals. You possess the ability to make sound financial decisions, demonstrate initiative, uphold confidentiality, and manage sensitive matters with discretion.

You will possess:

  • tertiary qualifications in Business Administration/Procurement or, have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training in an administrative procurement role;
  • experience in speciality procurement services involving highly regulated materials such as chemicals, imported items and the shipping of dangerous goods;
  • substantial relevant administrative experience with Microsoft suite, specifically Excel;
  • substantial relevant administrative experience with procurement software; and
  • capacity to collate and analyse data sets and other information to produce reports.
