You will

  • support students with access to reasonable academic adjustments and support to facilitate engagement and academic success;
  • provide specialist knowledge and expertise in advising all staff on responsibilities under relevant Disability and Education legislation and policies;
  • assist students to develop skills and knowledge to enhance independence in managing study and self-advocacy skills; and
  • contribute to an evidence-based model of service across multiple campuses and monitor, evaluate and report on outcomes and impact of accessibility initiatives to the UniSC student population.

About you

You have exceptional communication, administrative, and organisational skills, enabling you to navigate a dynamic environment and meet multiple challenging deadlines. Your strong problem-solving and clinical reasoning abilities allow you to manage complex situations with confidence while effectively engaging stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.

You will possess:

  • possession of, or willingness and eligibility to obtain current Blue Card and Disability Worker Screening Clearance Card.
  • the ability to perform duties at a skill level which assumes and requires knowledge or training equivalent to:
    • degree in occupational therapy, psychology or other allied health profession and eligibility for registration with the relevant registration board or professional association membership, and
    • at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience, or
    • comparable combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • experience in determining reasonable academic and/or functional adjustments in order to enable independence and academic success;
  • background knowledge of a range of health conditions and impacts, alongside a comprehensive working knowledge of inherent academic requirements and disclosure of health condition best practice; and
  • a sound understanding of the Australian Higher Education sector, Disability and Education legislation, and UniSC Policies and Procedures.
