You will:

  • shape innovative nursing education through curriculum design, teaching leadership, and mentoring, with recognition for excellence in learning and teaching;
  • deliver impactful research, secure grants, publish widely, and mentor future researchers to drive real-world healthcare solutions;
  • contribute to governance, strategy, and initiatives that enhance the School and University; and
  • build partnerships, collaborate on real-world projects, and create opportunities that benefit students and society.

About you

You're passionate about shaping the future of nursing education, bringing fresh ideas, innovative teaching, and real-world impact to everything you do. You thrive on engaging students, designing enriching learning experiences, and staying at the forefront of your field. Research is a core part of your work, and you're eager to drive meaningful projects, publish impactful findings, and mentor the next generation of healthcare leaders. Beyond the classroom and the lab, you build strong industry and community connections, turning collaboration into opportunities that benefit students and society. You're a team player who contributes to a vibrant, inclusive university culture - supporting, inspiring, and leading by example.

You will possess:

  • A doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing.
  • Registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proven effectiveness as a teacher, demonstrated through student feedback, peer reviews, and strong student outcomes, with a talent for conceiving, developing, and delivering engaging higher education curricula.
  • A strong track record in research, including refereed publications, participation in externally funded research projects, successful supervision of higher degree candidates, and research that makes an impact.
  • Leadership qualities that foster a positive academic environment, driving high engagement and achievement for both staff and students.
  • Experience in academic administration, such as program coordination, within a university setting.
  • Active membership in relevant professional bodies, community groups, or professional practice.
  • A commitment to continuous academic development, demonstrated by regular participation in professional learning activities and a desire to grow as an academic.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualifications in higher education.
  • Formal recognition for excellence in learning and teaching and/or research.
