The Opportunity

UniSC’s Information Technology team is central to the university’s vision to create a better tomorrow through learning, research and community impact. As part of Enterprise Services, the Systems Analyst (Business Application Services) ensures the smooth operation, integration, and enhancement of UniSC’s enterprise applications, with a primary focus on Oracle PeopleSoft Campus & HCM. This role supports the effective and secure delivery of digital services across the university.

In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support, monitor and administer core business applications, troubleshoot complex system and data issues, implement patches and upgrades, and participate in the design and delivery of new system functionality and integrations. You will work closely with business owners, vendors, and IT colleagues to enhance processes, streamline operations, and contribute to strategic technology initiatives, supporting UniSC’s digital transformation and modernisation of its application ecosystem.

You will

  • provide effective, client-focused technical support and administration of core business applications (with a primary focus on Oracle PeopleSoft), ensuring high performance, reliability, and uptime;
  • monitor and administrate multiple core business applications, ensuring systems are operating at optimal performance and availability;
  • follow change control procedures to deliver patches, upgrades and enhancements within agreed timeframes; and
  • work with stakeholders to implement new systems, enhancements, and integrations, translating requirements into practical solutions. 

About you

You are a technically skilled and solution-focused IT professional with broad hands-on experience in enterprise application environments. You thrive on solving complex problems, improving system performance, and supporting stakeholders to achieve organisational outcomes. You have excellent communication and organisational skills, can manage competing priorities, and are motivated by contributing to digital transformation in a complex, values-driven higher education environment.

You will possess:

  • a relevant degree in information technology or a related field, with at least four years’ relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and specialist expertise;
  • experience providing support for all stages of the development lifecycle in enterprise applications (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP);
  • proven experience troubleshooting complex application and data issues, including SQL/database environments;
  • experience implementing system patches, upgrades, and integrations in collaboration with vendors and system owners;
  • strong business analysis skills, with the ability to communicate technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions;
  • excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and provide clear, high-quality documentation.
