The Opportunity

UniSC’s Information Technology team is central to enabling the University’s growth, innovation and digital transformation. As a trusted partner to academic, research and operational areas, IT delivers secure, reliable and forward-thinking technology services that support a modern, future-focused university.

Within the Client Services portfolio, the Senior Workplace Technologies Engineer (Endpoints) plays a critical role in designing, delivering and optimising endpoint and workplace technologies. You will lead the development of modern, user-focused digital workplace services, ensuring seamless experiences across on-campus and remote environments. Working closely with stakeholders, vendors and internal teams, you will contribute to technology roadmaps, support project delivery and drive adoption of workplace technologies that enhance productivity and user experience.

You will

  • lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of endpoint and workplace technology services, ensuring alignment with user needs and strategic priorities;
  • provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across Microsoft 365, endpoint management and audio/visual technologies;
  • manage and optimise endpoint environments, including device management, software deployment and user experience across diverse platforms;
  • lead a team of two Workplace Technologies Engineers, streamlining application packaging, vulnerability management and the rapid adoption of new technologies;
  • drive the Device as a Service initiative, using digital experience (DEX) reporting to enable performance‑based device replacement and lifecycle management; and
  • collaborate with stakeholders, vendors and internal teams to support project delivery, drive innovation and ensure successful adoption of workplace technologies.

About you

You are a highly skilled workplace technologies professional with deep expertise in endpoint management and modern digital workplace environments. You enjoy solving complex technical challenges and are passionate about delivering seamless, user-centric technology experiences.

A strong communicator and collaborator, you build effective relationships across technical and business teams, translating requirements into practical solutions. You bring a proactive mindset, strong organisational skills and a commitment to continuous improvement, enabling you to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

You will possess:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience in workplace technologies, endpoint management or a related field;
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft 365, endpoint management tools (e.g. Intune, Endpoint Manager), identity services and operating environments (Windows and Apple);
  • Demonstrated experience designing and supporting modern workplace technologies in complex environments;
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL) and experience supporting service delivery, change and incident management;
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, manage vendors and contribute to project delivery; and
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to deliver user-focused solutions.
