The Opportunity

Campus Development and Services (CDS) at UniSC is integral to shaping vibrant, sustainable campus environments that support the University’s strategic goals in teaching, research, and community engagement. As part of a high-performing team, you’ll lead complex, high-value capital projects from concept to completion—delivering innovative spaces that enhance student experience and academic outcomes.

This role offers the chance to influence major infrastructure initiatives while collaborating with senior leaders, stakeholders, and delivery partners. With a focus on quality, sustainability, and operational excellence, you’ll play a key role in advancing UniSC’s long-term campus vision and helping create environments where people thrive.

You will:

  • lead the end-to-end delivery of complex capital projects, ensuring alignment with UniSC’s Project Management Framework, timelines, budgets, and quality standards;
  • manage high-level stakeholder engagement, working with internal and external partners to influence outcomes and meet strategic, operational, and reputational goals; and
  • oversee all phases of the project lifecycle - from planning and procurement to construction and commissioning, ensuring smooth transition to operational use and continuous improvement.

About you:

You are a highly experienced project management professional with a strong track record of leading complex, high-value capital projects in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments. With deep knowledge of construction delivery, design integration, financial governance, and risk management, you bring strategic thinking and operational excellence to every stage of the project lifecycle.

Confident in managing competing priorities and working with senior stakeholders, you combine technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. You thrive in complex settings, anticipate challenges, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes. Committed to continuous improvement and sustainability, you stay informed of industry best practices and regulatory changes, ensuring that UniSC’s physical infrastructure supports its long-term strategic goals.

You will possess:

  • completion or progress toward a postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and training;
  • extensive experience delivering high-value, high-risk construction projects in complex operational environments such as higher education, healthcare, or government;
  • strong financial management skills, including budget planning, forecasting, reporting, and value-for-money assurance;
  • advanced understanding of construction standards, building codes, sustainability frameworks, and contract administration;
  • proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage consultants and contractors, and influence senior stakeholders to achieve project goals; and
  • demonstrated experience managing complex project risks, including financial, operational, legal, and reputational exposures.
