The Opportunity

As part of UniSC’s Financial Services team, you will play a key role in delivering seamless, efficient, and customer-focused financial operations that support the university’s strategic and operational goals. You will coordinate and enhance the delivery of core financial services—particularly accounts payable and receivable—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a strong focus on continuous improvement.

This pivotal role combines operational expertise with strategic insight. Drawing on your deep understanding of financial processes in complex organisations, you will ensure efficient transaction management, provide specialist advice, and help drive compliance with key taxation and reporting requirements. By fostering strong relationships, coaching team members, and supporting system and policy enhancements, you will contribute to a robust and sustainable financial framework across the university.

You Will:

  • lead and manage accounts payable and receivable operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant service delivery;
  • apply expert knowledge of GST and FBT legislation to support accurate transaction processing and financial reporting;
  • provide specialist advice on complex financial matters, including reconciliations, system integrations, and process improvements; and
  • mentor and support staff to build a high-performing, service-oriented team culture within Financial Operations.

About You

You’re a financial operations professional with a sharp eye for detail and a strong understanding of transactional finance in a large, complex organisation. You bring a calm, methodical approach to high-volume environments, and your expertise in GST, FBT, and compliance ensures that nothing slips through the cracks.

You have excellent organisational skills, thrive under pressure, and take pride in accurate, reliable outcomes. A natural collaborator, you’re comfortable mentoring colleagues, liaising with stakeholders, and working across systems to deliver results that support broader strategic goals.

You Will Possess:

  • a relevant degree and significant experience in accounts payable and receivable within a large, complex organisation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • strong knowledge and hands-on experience in financial operations, including the ability to review, implement, and improve accounts payable and receivable processes;
  • in-depth understanding of GST and FBT taxation legislation, with the ability to interpret and apply compliance requirements accurately;
  • exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy;
  • proficiency in financial systems and software, including Technology One CiA, Xetta, and advanced Microsoft Excel; and
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and deliver high-quality client service.
