The Opportunity

Join our team as the Manager, Capital Delivery, where you will spearhead the operational execution of the University's capital works program across multiple campuses. This pivotal role oversees the entire lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from procurement through to post-occupancy transition. You'll lead high-value, multi-year projects, collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless delivery while managing operational, financial, and reputational risks. Your work will directly shape our built environment, supporting our academic and research aspirations with every project milestone.

You will

  • lead the delivery of major capital projects across our campuses, turning strategic intent into tangible, high-impact spaces that support learning, research, and community connection;
  • shape and drive the University’s capital works program, translating big-picture priorities into well-planned, achievable projects that align with our vision for the future; and
  • keep projects on track and on purpose, delivering within scope, budget and timeframes while ensuring compliance, sustainability, and seamless operational outcomes.

About you

You're someone who thrives on turning big ideas into real world outcomes, bringing complex capital projects to life with clarity, confidence and care. Our ideal candidate is a skilled leader who’s as comfortable guiding teams and managing risk as they are navigating contracts, budgets and build sites. You know how to translate strategic plans into well executed infrastructure that works, delivering spaces that support learning, research and community connection. You’re also someone who brings a collaborative mindset, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to safety, sustainability and continuous improvement.

You will possess:

  • Proven experience delivering complex, high-value capital projects in large or public sector environments.
  • Strong financial skills, including capital budgeting, forecasting, and contract performance oversight.
  • Confidence advising executives and regulators, with experience preparing reports, business cases and submissions.
  • Sound knowledge of compliance, planning frameworks, WHS legislation and building codes.
  • Strategic risk management expertise across financial, legal, operational and safety domains.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with a focus on team development and high performance.
  • Well-developed communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience with digital project delivery systems for reporting, forecasting and contractor management.
  • A values-led approach, with a commitment to equity, sustainability, safety and service excellence.
