The Opportunity

Lead the future of paramedicine education at UniSC! As the academic leader for the Bachelor of Paramedicine program, you’ll drive the design, delivery, and evaluation of courses while mentoring staff and ensuring regulatory compliance. You’ll integrate cutting-edge research into teaching, foster innovation in student learning, and support work-integrated learning initiatives. By building strong industry and community partnerships, you’ll help prepare graduates for impactful roles in primary and emergency healthcare. You will:

• shape innovative paramedicine education through curriculum design, teaching leadership, and mentoring, with recognition for excellence in learning and teaching;
• deliver impactful research, secure grants, publish widely, and mentor future researchers to drive real-world healthcare solutions;
• contribute to governance, strategy, and initiatives that enhance the School and University; and
• build partnerships, collaborate on real-world projects, and create opportunities that benefit students and society.

About you

You’re passionate about shaping the future of paramedicine education, bringing innovative teaching and real-world impact to every aspect of your work. You thrive on creating engaging learning experiences, staying at the forefront of your field, and integrating research into your teaching. Eager to drive meaningful projects, you’re committed to publishing impactful findings and mentoring the next generation of healthcare leaders. Outside the classroom, you foster strong industry and community partnerships, creating opportunities for students and society alike. As a team player, you support and inspire a vibrant, inclusive university culture, leading by example and making a difference.

You will possess:

• completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
• proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
• sound and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position;
• sound leadership contributions and personal qualities that influence the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to high levels of engagement and standards of achievement for both staff and students;
• participation and success in academic administrative functions e.g. program coordination, within a University;
• membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups and/or in professional practice; and
• evidence of regular participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic.

Desirable

• postgraduate qualifications in higher education.
• formal external and/or internal recognition for excellence in learning and teaching and/or research.
