In this role, you will lead and shape the future of teaching and teacher education research to create the next generation of educators and researchers. You will lead and teach courses and programs as a curriculum and pedagogy expert in at least one of the following areas: English, literacy, Maths, numeracy at primary or secondary level and/or senior secondary science as aligned with your area of expertise. You will also contribute to research higher degree supervision and mentoring.

You will bring leadership and expertise in your teaching area, with a strong foundation in teaching performance assessments and classroom experience, complemented by the ability to engage in the scholarship of teaching.

You will:

• lead, develop, deliver and coordinate courses or programs in teacher education in person and online;
• develop and maintain a strong research profile and contribute to developing research projects and initiatives;
• be responsible for developing and maintaining a research focus in education and collaborating with others to form research teams and secure project funding. Additionally, you will be expected to work with other research teams and hone your skills in supervising research higher degree students.

You will possess:

• completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
• effectiveness as a teacher, which is evidenced by:
• student feedback on teaching using valid instrument/s, peer review and/or student outcomes, and
• the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching
• Queensland College of Teacher (QCT) registration:
• a sound and established track record of research activity, including for example: refereed publications; participation in research teams whose research is funded by external competitive grants; quality supervision of, and timely completions by, candidates for honours and higher degrees by research; and impact of research; and
• sound leadership contributions and personal qualities that influence the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to high levels of engagement and standards of achievement for both staff and students.
