Join our dedicated team at the University of the Sunshine Coast as a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy. You'll make a significant contribution through innovative teaching, impactful research, and community engagement. We seek a candidate with a strong research profile, leadership and mentoring skills, and extensive professional networks in occupational therapy both locally and nationally. You will:

  • achieve research excellence, securing competitive grants and leading projects with national recognition;
  • innovate in teaching and curriculum design, inspiring students and colleagues with your leadership;
  • build strategic partnerships locally and internationally, delivering significant outcomes for the University and community; and
  • contribute to university development and governance, fostering a positive and productive academic culture.

About you:

You're a leader in your field, ready to elevate research productivity with a clear agenda and strategic partnerships. Your expertise drives innovative projects, secures competitive grants, and inspires early career researchers. In teaching, you're at the forefront of curriculum development and student engagement, using advanced technologies and methods. You have a passion for supporting students, helping them succeed through engaging and effective learning experiences. You excel in creating meaningful connections with stakeholders locally and globally, enhancing our university's impact and reputation. Your commitment to fostering a positive academic environment ensures high standards and strong collaboration across all areas.

You will possess:

Level C:

  • Doctoral qualification and extensive academic leadership experience.
  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy, with eligibility to practise in Australia.
  • Proven teaching effectiveness, including curriculum development and student feedback.
  • Established research track record, including publications, grant participation, and supervision of research candidates.
  • Strong leadership qualities fostering a positive academic environment.
  • Experience in academic administration, such as program coordination.
  • Active membership and engagement with professional bodies and community groups.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Level D:

  • Doctoral qualification and extensive academic leadership experience.
  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy, with eligibility to practise in Australia.
  • Evidence of significant contribution to the development of the discipline.
  • Strong research program with a record of high quality, impactful research and external recognition.
  • Proven research leadership, including mentoring early career researchers and serving on national panels.
  • Exemplary teaching effectiveness, with leadership in curriculum development and teaching innovation.
  • Strong leadership fostering a positive academic environment.
  • Extensive experience in academic administration and leadership roles.
  • Ability to establish and maintain beneficial partnerships regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in higher education.
  • Formal recognition for excellence in learning, teaching, and/or research.
