The Opportunity

Join the ESARY Project and play a crucial role in transforming youth mental health support! This innovative project focuses on a real-time screener to help clinicians and counsellors respond swiftly to suicidality in youth (ages 12+). You’ll engage with participants, recruit project partners, manage data collection, and conduct preliminary analyses, working alongside a lived experience advisory group to co-design and implement the tool in various settings, including schools and youth mental health services. You will

  • undertake research tasks such as recruitment, assessments, data collection (including neuropsychiatric interviewing, cognitive assessment, and electroencephalography; EEG) and analysis;
  • provide extensive research administrative support; and
  • work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

About you

With your well-developed organisational and troubleshooting skills, you excel at managing conflicting demands and meeting deadlines. You bring sound judgement, initiative, and a strong commitment to confidentiality, making you adaptable in dynamic environments. Your exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, along with your interpersonal skills, enable you to interact professionally and effectively with a wide range of people, building rapport and fostering positive relationships.

You will possess:

  • completion of a relevant degree combined with a sound understanding of research methodologies;
  • ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary research environment;
  • experience working in a research environment and/or within the health sector in an administrative capacity will be highly regarded; and
  • hold a current working with children blue card or ability to obtain one.
