The Opportunity

Join our dynamic Graduate Research School team, where you’ll provide strategic coordination and high-level support for key initiatives within the Graduate Research School (GRS), helping to drive researcher development and enhance institutional review processes. With a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, you’ll work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and make a meaningful impact on the University’s research culture and success.

You will

  • Lead the coordination of diverse strategic projects to support the effective implementation of Graduate Research School and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Program review recommendations, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and timelines;
  • Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders across the University to drive the delivery of review-related initiatives, fostering engagement and ensuring outcomes are informed by stakeholder insights and needs; and
  • Provide high-level operational and strategic support to the Graduate Research School Leadership Team, contributing to informed decision-making.

About you

You’re a confident communicator who knows how to adapt your style to suit different audiences and build strong, collaborative relationships. With excellent project and time management skills, you can independently plan, coordinate, and deliver projects, keeping documentation, timelines, and stakeholders on track. You bring initiative and problem-solving ability, balancing autonomy with teamwork to manage competing priorities and progress multiple projects within tight deadlines.

You will possess:

  • Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience or extensive experience in a university environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to a range of audiences and strong stakeholder collaboration skills;
  • Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to coordinate projects independently; including developing and maintaining project plans, recording project documentation and effective management of timelines and key relationships. Ability to show initiative whilst delivering work within a specified framework;
  • Ability to work independently, including strong problem-solving skills, prioritising work and progressing multiple projects to meet specified timelines within a collaborative team environment; and
  • Strong digital literacy to support data collection, identify and implement new technology to meet business needs and manage collaborative projects. 

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the graduate research environment or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge.
  • Understanding or ability to acquire knowledge of university governance processes to support processing of new programs or discontinuation of programs.
