The Opportunity

Join us as the Manager, Student Systems at UniSC, where you’ll play an essential role in shaping the student experience. This role leads the way in enhancing and optimising our student systems to ensure seamless support across our Student Services functions. Working closely with university stakeholders, including IT, you’ll bring expert insights to elevate our processes, data management, and reporting. You’ll guide a team to identify and drive improvements and automation, creating smoother experiences for students and staff alike - all while helping students on their journey to become lifelong learners and job-ready graduates. You will

  • drive innovation in UniSC’s student services by enhancing core systems like the Student Management System and CRM, ensuring process improvements, automation, and compliance with strategic goals;
  • lead and support a talented team dedicated to advancing student systems, overseeing everything from analysis and configuration to testing and training;
  • develop a focused roadmap for ongoing system improvements, partnering with IT and service users to deliver projects that elevate experiences for students and staff; and
  • provide expert guidance to senior leaders, supporting strategic initiatives to continually enhance UniSC’s student services.

About you

Our ideal candidate is a proactive leader who excels in developing and improving student systems and processes to achieve service excellence. You're a collaborator at heart, skilled at building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, from key university partners to vendors and user groups. With a strategic eye, you oversee the management, security, and reporting for UniSC’s student information systems, ensuring they meet both governance and legislative standards. You bring a data-driven approach, using insights to shape recommendations that keep UniSC at the forefront of student support. And as a natural representative and communicator, you're ready to engage with sector networks and contribute meaningfully within UniSC's forums and committees.

You will possess:

  • Proven leadership in driving student system improvements and major projects, enhancing user and organisational outcomes, with expertise in analysis, testing, and implementation.
  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams, fostering engagement and success.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, offering informed decisions and proactive recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Excellent communicator, skilled in advising, influencing, and negotiating to achieve positive results.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Higher Education sector and relevant legislation around student and academic administration.
  • Comprehensive understanding of student systems, data, and reporting needs.
  • Experienced as a System Owner, managing supplier relationships, with a background in Peoplesoft Student/Oracle Campus Solutions a plus.
