The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll lead the charge in growing our international presence across the Americas and Pacific, as well as onshore. Your extensive networks in these regions will be key to identifying and developing new student recruitment opportunities. You'll drive strategic initiatives that build strong, sustainable pipelines while managing vital partnerships with education agents, institutions, and government agencies. Success will be measured by achieving enrolment targets and delivering solid return on investment. Leading an onshore and offshore team, you'll keep UniSC connected and growing, particularly from the United States.

You will

  • deliver strategic insights into market trends and competition, helping identify and capitalise on key growth opportunities for UniSC;
  • develop and implement impactful business development strategies, constantly reviewing performance to maximise return on investment; and
  • lead a motivated, globally mobile team, ensuring UniSC’s brand is represented with excellence and our recruitment efforts align with the university’s strategic goals.

About you

Our ideal candidate is a strategic visionary with a passion and aptitude for international student recruitment, especially from North America. You thrive on developing innovative strategies that tap into both current and emerging markets, building a sustainable and diverse pipeline of international students. You excel at identifying and activating institutional partnerships, including study abroad and twinning pathways. With your keen market analysis skills, you proactively provide insights that guide our student recruitment efforts and keep us ahead of trends. You are adept at managing budgets to ensure a strong return on investment. As a confident representative of UniSC, you lead a motivated and impactful team and cultivate valuable partnerships, all while upholding our brand integrity.

You will possess:

  • Strong ability to develop and implement international student recruitment strategies for current and emerging markets, building a sustainable and diverse international student pipeline from allocated regions.
  • Expertise in conducting agile market analysis to proactively provide insights and strategic advice on emerging trends and opportunities using diverse data sources.
  • Detailed knowledge of education pathways, academic qualifications, risk factors, motivating factors, product demand, and key enablers for allocated regions.
  • A track record of regularly assessing the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and providing detailed performance reports against annual targets.
  • Strong skills in budget management, ensuring quantifiable return on investment while managing cost per acquisition measures.
  • Ability to represent UniSC nationally and internationally, demonstrating high intercultural competence and maintaining brand integrity.
  • Experience in negotiating agreements and managing performance and compliance with recruitment partners, including education agents, partner institutions, and government agencies.
  • Leadership skills to supervise a team of onshore staff and/or offshore consultants, ensuring effective performance against agreed metrics.
