The Opportunity

UniSC’s Graduate Research School is central to the quality, integrity and impact of our Higher Degree Research (HDR) community. As the HDR Partnerships, Scholarships and Admissions Officer, you will work at the intersection of policy, partnerships and people, providing accurate advice, efficient service and compliant processes across HDR admissions and scholarship pathways. You will support the end-to-end HDR lifecycle, collaborating with academic staff, HDR candidates, internal teams and external partners to manage complex arrangements with precision, judgement and care, while contributing to continuous improvement. This role suits someone who enjoys translating policy into practical solutions, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is motivated by supporting research excellence.

You will

  • Ensure efficient and effective administration of partnerships, scholarships and admissions functions, which includes maintaining student records, undertaking quality assurance practices and regularly reviewing current processes;
  • Manage and implement relevant policies and procedures and monitor legislation to ensure compliance; and
  • Liaise with other UniSC departments on all matters related to HDR partnerships, scholarships and admissions.

About you

You are a detail-oriented professional who thrives on working with complex information while maintaining sight of the bigger picture. You bring sound judgement, calm and practical problem-solving skills, and a strong customer-focused approach. Comfortable interpreting and applying legislation and policy, you can communicate complex requirements clearly and build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You take pride in accuracy, enjoy improving systems and processes, and are motivated by work that supports research, learning, and discovery.

You will possess:

  • Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience, or extensive experience in HDR administration and/or HDR scholarship administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
  • Demonstrated high-level skills in interpreting and applying legislation;
  • Experience with developing and maintaining policies and procedures and undertaking and implementing business process improvements;
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to maintain accuracy and strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise own and others workload;
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to show initiative; and
  • Demonstrated high-level written, oral and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively liaise and negotiate with people at all levels.

Desirable:

  • Experience with TechOne ECM, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (Oracle Service Cloud), SONIA work integrated learning software, Tactiv Enquire, Umbraco web editing and PeopleSoft.
