The Opportunity

Join our dynamic team at UniSC Caboolture and UniSC Moreton Bay as an Events Coordinator! Take charge of shaping and executing an exciting array of events aimed at enhancing student engagement, fostering community partnerships, promoting diversity and access, and boosting staff morale. Your role will involve developing and delivering a diverse range of activities, from student recruitment drives to community engagement initiatives. Be at the forefront of creating memorable experiences that align with our strategic objectives and contribute to the success of our campuses. Please note, the ability to work non-standard hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends may be required. This role will also require regular travel between our Petrie and Caboolture campuses to support universities events and activities.

You will

  • develop, coordinate and facilitate internal and external events at UniSC Caboolture;
  • plan and deliver key scheduled student events including having local oversight of orientation days at UniSC Moreton Bay; and
  • collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate and successful events.

About you

We're seeking an individual with outstanding communication skills, enabling you to confidently interact with people from diverse backgrounds, as well as develop and maintain positive, cooperative and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will enjoy showcasing your organisational skills, including your capacity to prioritise tasks, autonomously manage workload, drive multiple projects simultaneously, and contribute to broader team initiatives whilst maintaining a solution focused work ethic As a key member of our tight-knit operations team, we're looking for a self-motivated, quick-thinking individual who's comfortable taking charge and making decisions.

You will possess:

  • completion of a relevant degree combined with previous experience in event coordination or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
  • strong written, verbal and digital communication and design skills;
  • sound leadership skills to supervise and coordinate staff and volunteers, including delegating tasks;
  • exercise sound judgement, take initiative and solve problems;
  • sound financial skills to set and monitor budgets, including timesheets for payroll;
  • highly developed computer literacy, including Word, Excel, Sharepoint and event related systems (such as; Student Hub, Eventbrite and Asana);
  • flexibility and ability to adapt to change, often within short timeframes.
