The School of Law and Society is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to register to be part of a casual pool for Counselling Clinical Supervisors at Moreton Bay and Sippy Downs. 

In this role you will supervise Counselling students who are on placement in a clinical setting. As a dedicated educator you will engage in high-quality teaching, fostering a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for students. Your expertise will inspire and challenge learners, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel academically and professionally.

At UniSC, Clinical Supervisors are able to nominate the number of student groups they are available to supervise per semester, with each supervision group having five or six students totalling 21 or 24 hours per group over the course of each semester (students go out on placement twice per year in accordance with semester dates).

You will:

  • schedule six supervision sessions per student, combining individual and group supervision sessions over the duration of the placement period;
  • provide clinical supervision and guidance on student placement experiences;
  • provide feedback on case conceptualisation in supervision;
  • discuss theories, frameworks, and approaches within the counselling field;
  • facilitate student’s reflexive and reflective practice;
  • provide ongoing feedback to students regarding their practice and emerging counselling skills development;
  • advocate and promote Australian Counselling Association (ACA); Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and UniSC Student Placement Ethics; and
  • facilitate regular liaison and feedback with the Clinical Educator in Counselling regarding student progress and any areas of concern.

About you:

You have extensive experience in facilitating, consulting, influencing and building credibility within a clinical environment. You are willing to share your expertise to contribute to the ongoing success of our clinical placements program and thrive on building links between our institution, industry partners and the broader community. By leveraging your expertise, you foster valuable connections that not only benefit our students but also contribute positively to our local and global communities.

You will possess:

  • Accreditation as a Clinical Supervisor with a relevant body:  e.g. ACA; PACFA.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience
  • Evidence of quality clinical supervision in various forms: including face to face and zoom.
  • Undertake regular supervision as a supervisor
