The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-achieving, innovative, and community-focused Associate Clinical Educator – Social Work to join the School of Law and Society. In this role, you will support the facilitation of high-quality clinical education and placements for social work, human services, and related students across simulated, telehealth, internal, and external placement settings. Working closely with industry and community partners, you will contribute to productive external relationships, support student learning and professional development, and participate in teaching and tutoring within the broader social work and human services programs, helping students become confident, capable, and job-ready graduates.

You will:

  • support and deliver high-quality clinical education and placements, including supervision and assessment of students across a range of practice settings;
  • contribute to teaching, tutoring, and learning activities within social work and human services programs, integrating scholarship, professional practice, and reflective learning; and
  • engage with industry, community, and University colleagues to strengthen partnerships, enhance the student experience, and support the advancement of the social work discipline.

About you

You are a dedicated and reflective social work practitioner and educator with a strong commitment to culturally capable, inclusive, and ethical practice. You bring a collaborative approach to teaching and supervision, value community-engaged education, and enjoy working closely with students, colleagues, and external partners.

You will possess:

  • a degree in Social Work and a minimum of five (5) years’ post-qualifying professional practice experience;
  • eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW);
  • demonstrated effectiveness as a teacher, including curriculum delivery, assessment, and feedback;
  • proven clinical education experience, including supervision of student placements across diverse models and settings
  • strong professional networks and engagement with relevant professional bodies and community organisations;
  • evidence of ongoing academic and professional development; and
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity, meeting the genuine occupational requirement as per the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.

Desirable:

  • experience undertaking academic administrative functions, such as course coordination, within a university.
