The Opportunity

Join us as an Administration Officer (Honours) and play a pivotal role in supporting Honours Supervisors, Coordinators, and Students across all Schools. You'll ensure seamless administrative operations, leveraging your deep understanding of the University's structure, programs, policies, and operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in efficiently coordinating processes and communications that enhance academic delivery. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our vibrant academic community while providing essential support that uplifts our students, showcases our institutional excellence to government and industry partners, and fosters meaningful connections within our community.

You will

  • coordinate Honours and HDR processes across the university, providing trusted support to supervisors, coordinators and students;
  • ensure processes run smoothly and in line with relevant university policies and procedures;
  • look for opportunities to refine and improve the way we work, with a focus on best practice; and
  • contribute to an outstanding experience for students and staff that reflects UniSC’s strategic goals and values.

You’re someone who spots the details others might miss, keeps timelines on track, and makes sure processes run smoothly from start to finish. Whether it’s coordinating presentations, managing funding or payments, supporting student progress, or fine-tuning admin systems, you bring a thoughtful, collaborative approach and a genuine interest in creating a great experience for everyone involved. You’re confident navigating policies, comfortable using digital tools, and you’re not afraid to suggest a smarter way of doing things. Most of all, you’re someone who thrives in a role where your work has a real impact on students and researchers, and that’s what drives you.

You will possess:

  • A genuine commitment to creating a great experience for students, staff and partners through thoughtful, high-quality service
  • Confidence working with data, with the ability to collate information, identify what matters and produce clear, useful reports
  • Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and interact professionally with a wide range of people
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines, work collaboratively in a team and operate independently when needed
  • Sound judgement and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive matters, show initiative and maintain confidentiality
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 tools including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
