The Opportunity

As the Workplace Relations and Business Partnering Coordinator, you’ll be part of a collaborative team supporting a wide range of people-related activities across the University. You’ll coordinate important processes, support compliance requirements, and help ensure advice and documentation is clear, consistent and practical.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Workplace Relations and Business Partnering, you’ll be involved in a mix of work, supporting employee relations matters, assisting with organisational change, and helping with workforce planning activities. A big part of the role is keeping things moving and making sure people get the right information and support at the right time.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll get exposure across a wide range of workplace relations work, build strong relationships across the University, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

You will

  • act as the first point of contact for workplace relations and business partnering enquiries, triaging and supporting stakeholders;
  • coordinate employee relations matters including grievances, complaints and organisational change activity, providing end-to-end administrative and case support;
  • prepare clear correspondence, reports and documentation, and maintain accurate systems, case records and workforce data with a focus on confidentiality and integrity; and
  • support workforce reporting, classification, organisational design, policy implementation and continuous improvement, working closely with Business Partners and Workplace Relations specialists

About you

You’re organised, proactive and calm under pressure. You enjoy working behind the scenes to make complex processes feel seamless, and you take pride in accuracy, responsiveness and getting the details right. You bring a strong service mindset and the confidence to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, from leaders to specialist teams. You’re curious about workplace relations and want to build your expertise in a supportive, professional environment.

You will possess:

  • A degree in Human Resources or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience providing coordination or administrative support in HR, employee relations or similar environments
  • Sound understanding, or the ability to quickly build knowledge, of employment legislation and workplace relations practices
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
  • Experience working with systems, databases and records management with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality
  • Ability to analyse and present data to support reporting and decision-making
  • Excellent written communication skills across reports, correspondence and documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement
  • Initiative, sound judgement and problem-solving capability
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion, respect and culturally capable practice
