The Opportunity

As Student Central Coordinator, you’ll lead the delivery of warm, consistent and high-quality service as the first point of contact for prospective and current students and our wider community, whether they connect with us in person, by phone, email or live chat. Based at our Sunshine Coast campus and working closely with colleagues across UniSC, you’ll guide and mentor a local team, support their growth and ensure smooth day-to-day operations using contemporary call centre and CRM systems. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll help create a welcoming, solutions-focused environment that supports students to succeed, particularly during peak periods when your calm coordination and care will matter most.

You will

  • support the Team Leader by providing guidance and acting as a go-to resource for the Student Central team;
  • help coordinate and streamline workflows across all student contact channels, keeping services running smoothly; and
  • foster a culture of learning and excellence by supporting staff development and maintaining high-quality service.

About you

Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives on helping people and making every interaction count. You’re confident in leading a team, keeping operations running smoothly, and anticipating what students and staff need, especially during busy periods. You enjoy building strong connections across the University, supporting your team to grow and shine, and finding smart ways to improve processes and service delivery. You’re organised, approachable, and excited to be part of a team that makes a real difference to the student experience across all UniSC campuses.

You will possess:

  • Proven success in coordinating and supporting a team in a flexible work environment, including managing rosters and allocating work to meet business needs.
  • Experience providing staff supervision and leadership across multiple campuses, fostering a goal-focused, collaborative team culture, and supporting training and induction initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with diverse groups and handle complex or sensitive client enquiries with professionalism and care.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build credibility, rapport, and positive relationships with colleagues, students, and stakeholders.
  • Skilled problem-solver who can juggle multiple priorities, manage conflicting deadlines, and deliver effective solutions with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues and contribute innovative solutions that support continuous improvement.
  • High level of digital literacy, with experience using Customer Relationship Management systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
