The Opportunity

This is a chance to play a meaningful role within UniSC Student Services, working as part of the leadership team to turn our Annual Operating Plan into action. You’ll lead a portfolio of priority projects and initiatives from concept through to delivery, bringing clarity, momentum and confidence to how work progresses across the program. Partnering closely with Student Services leaders, you’ll support transparency, smart planning and timely delivery, while building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear advice and open communication. You’ll also provide trusted, hands-on support to the Academic Registrar and Director, Student Services as new priorities emerge. Above all, you’ll help create lasting value by strengthening consistent, practical approaches to project, change and risk management across Student Services, aligned with UniSC’s frameworks and way of working.

You will

  • lead the delivery of priority Student Services projects, turning UniSC’s Strategic Plan into timely, meaningful outcomes for students and staff;
  • partner confidently with stakeholders to navigate complexity, manage risk and provide clear, proactive advice and communication; and
  • strengthen how we deliver change by embedding consistent, practical project and change management practices across Student Services.

UniSC adopts a hybrid working approach. This role will be primarily based on campus at either our Sunshine Coast or Moreton Bay location, with work-from-home flexibility. If based at Moreton Bay, there is an expectation of regular travel to the Sunshine Coast campus.

About you

Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys bringing clarity to complexity and progress to meaningful work. You’re comfortable leading a diverse program of projects from big picture intent through to delivery, keeping strategy, people and outcomes connected. You use resources and budgets thoughtfully, communicate with purpose, and build strong, trusted relationships across the University and beyond. You’re at your best when translating complex information into clear insights for senior leaders, managing risk with care, and supporting change in ways that help people come along for the journey. With a practical mindset and a focus on continuous improvement, you’re motivated by leaving things better than you found them and strengthening how Student Services plans, delivers and reports on work that supports our students and communities.

You will possess:

  • Proven experience in planning, developing and delivering business improvement and change initiatives, preferably in a higher education context.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting business needs and priorities, ideally including knowledge of student services operations and student information systems.
  • Expertise in assessing business priorities, impact and risk, with a track record of proactively mitigating risks and improving processes.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and initiatives, coordinating resources and building collaborative relationships across the University and beyond to achieve results.
  • Solid understanding of legislation and policy frameworks relevant to student administration, support and services.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage stakeholders, convey ideas clearly and produce high-quality reports for a range of audiences, including senior leaders.
