As Manager, Industry Engagement, you will play a key role in the ongoing development and delivery of UniSC's industry engagement strategy by identifying and developing new leads, securing new funding sources, and growing strategic partnerships across industry, government, and community. Working closely with senior leaders, academics, researchers, and external stakeholders, you will create opportunities that drive student success, expand research collaboration, and support the University's strategic growth objectives. You will also lead partnership initiatives, influence organisational capability, and foster a culture of industry engagement that delivers lasting value for UniSC and its partners.

You will

  • lead the identification, development and delivery of strategic industry partnerships that support the growth of UniSC's teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement objectives;
  • identify, establish, and manage relationships with industry, government, and community stakeholders to create collaborative opportunities that deliver mutual value; and
  • manage assigned industry engagement initiatives and projects while providing strategic advice, influencing stakeholders, and strengthening a culture of industry engagement across the University.

About you

You are an experienced and outcomes driven business development professional with a proven ability to build strategic partnerships with industry and deliver on key organisational outcomes and performance indicators. You excel at developing trusted relationships with senior leaders across industry, government, and higher education and are highly motivated by creating opportunities that deliver value.

A strategic and collaborative leader, you bring exceptional business acumen, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, together with strong project and stakeholder management capability. You are comfortable navigating complex and new environments, identifying and developing new opportunities for growth, and bringing diverse stakeholders together to achieve shared objectives.

You will possess:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in business development, commerce, management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant business development experience;
  • Demonstrated success in business development, strategic partnership management, or industry engagement within a university, government, or commercial environment;
  • Proven ability to identify, establish and grow collaborative partnerships with industry and government that deliver strategic outcomes;
  • Experience preparing business proposals, strategic and operational plans, business cases, and executive-level reports to support stakeholder engagement;
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, assess risk, and deliver successful outcomes;
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups; and
  • Demonstrated understanding of the higher education sector, research collaboration, and emerging trends in industry engagement.
