The Opportunity

The Lecturer in Allied Health Assistance (Clinical Education) is a dedicated, professional role responsible for coordinating, developing, and quality-assuring clinical education and placement experiences within the AHA program. This role ensures students receive safe, sustainable, and high-quality learning experiences that meet industry standards and support workforce development.

You will work collaboratively with academic and professional staff, engage with allied health providers across the region, and support the growth and quality of the AHA clinical education program.

You will:

  • coordinate and quality-assure clinical education and placement experiences for the Diploma of Allied Health Assistance;
  • support student readiness, placement success, and professional practice development; and
  • build and maintain industry partnerships across the UniSC catchment (including Gympie, Caboolture, Moreton Bay) and support program growth.

About you:

You are an experienced allied health professional and educator with strong clinical education and placement experience. You demonstrate a commitment to student success and workforce relevance, and you are skilled in building partnerships with industry and community stakeholders.

You will possess:

  • A degree in an allied health profession (e.g., occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, nutrition and dietetics);
  • Completion or near-completion of a PhD qualification in a relevant field;
  • Evidence of effective teaching and student support in clinical or practice-based contexts;
  • An established research track record, including refereed publications, participation in research teams, and co-supervision of honours and HDR students;
  • Membership and strong connections with relevant professional bodies, community groups, and/or professional practice;
  • Strong personal qualities and a collegial approach that support a positive academic environment and high standards for staff and students; and
  • Evidence of ongoing academic development and a commitment to improving teaching practice.

Desirable

  • Experience undertaking academic administrative functions, e.g. course coordination, within a University.
