Joining us as a Lecturer in Histopathology presents an exciting opportunity to enrich our Medical Laboratory Science program within the Biomedical Sciences discipline. Based primarily at Sippy Downs and Moreton Bay campuses, you will play a pivotal role in teaching, coordinating courses, and mentoring students in our undergraduate biomedical science programs. Your contributions will extend beyond the classroom as you engage in impactful research and professional activities at UniSC, empowering the next generation of biomedical scientists and strengthening our partnerships with government, industry, and the wider community.

You will:

  • deliver engaging teaching, course coordination, and student support to shape future biomedical scientists;
  • advance your research through impactful projects, student supervision, grants, and quality publications;
  • contribute to UniSC’s community through governance, student engagement, and School initiatives; and
  • forge strong industry and community links, applying your expertise to real-world challenges and outreach.

About you:

You're committed to delivering engaging learning experiences that support student success and reflect the latest in your field. You enjoy designing and refining curricula, using technology to enhance teaching, and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Your research contributes to your discipline in meaningful ways, whether through collaboration, publications, or mentoring students. You also value building connections, within UniSC and beyond, through partnerships that create real-world impact. Most importantly, you bring a positive, professional approach to your work, contributing to a culture of integrity, respect, and continuous learning.

You will possess:

  • Qualifications in Medical Laboratory Science.
  • A strong track record in teaching, supported by student feedback, peer reviews, and student outcomes, with the ability to design and deliver engaging higher education curricula.
  • Research experience demonstrated through publications, collaboration in research teams, and co-supervision of honours and higher degree research students.
  • Active membership in professional bodies and strong connections with industry and community groups.
  • A collaborative and professional approach that contributes to a positive academic environment for both staff and students.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development to enhance teaching and research impact.
  • Extensive laboratory experience in Histopathology Diagnostics within a pathology service.

Desirable:

  • Experience in academic administration, such as course coordination, within a university setting.
