The Opportunity

UniSC Clinical Trials is a world-class centre delivering innovative and clinically relevant research in collaboration with healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical sponsors, and community partners.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Clinical Trials Coordinator to manage the coordination and administration of clinical trials across the UniSC Clinical Trials network. In this pivotal role, you will oversee participant visits, data collection, regulatory compliance, and site readiness to ensure high-quality conduct of clinical studies. You’ll contribute to improving processes, mentoring junior staff, and supporting a positive and compliant research culture.

You will

  • coordinate and administer all aspects of assigned clinical trials, including study start-up, ethics and regulatory submissions, participant recruitment, screening, enrolment, and visit management;
  • ensure compliant conduct of trials in accordance with ICH-GCP, UniSC CTC SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements, including oversight of data collection, laboratory sample processing, study documentation and investigational product accountability;
  • liaise with sponsors, monitors, investigators and multidisciplinary teams to support the timely delivery of research milestones and resolution of complex study-related matters; and
  • contribute to quality assurance, continuous improvement initiatives, and the positive supervision and support of Clinical Trial Associates and student placements where required.

About you

You are a collaborative and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced research environment. With excellent communication and organisational skills, you ensure accuracy, compliance, and care in every aspect of your work. You enjoy problem-solving, working autonomously, and contributing to innovative, ethical clinical research.

You will possess:

  • Degree in Health, Science, Nursing, or related field with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of Diploma-level qualification and substantial clinical research experience;
  • Knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and applicable regulatory requirements, with previous clinical trial coordination experience highly regarded;
  • Strong computing skills, including electronic data capture systems, databases, spreadsheets, and document management systems;
  • Sound understanding of privacy principles governing health information;
  • Flexibility to travel between sites and work outside standard business hours, including participation in confinement studies or a 24/7 on-call roster as required; and
  • Current registration with AHPRA (for Registered Nurses), medication administration endorsement and phlebotomy training (for Enrolled Nurses), and compliance with immunisation requirements.
