The Opportunity

Data and analytics are central to enabling evidence-based decision-making at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC). The Insights & Analytics Unit (IAU) plays a key role in delivering strategic initiatives that strengthen UniSC’s data, analytics, and information capabilities.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Data Analytics, this role provides hands-on support across priority data and analytics initiatives. You’ll work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements, support testing, and enable successful adoption of analytics products.

You will

As a Business Analyst, you will support the delivery of Data & Analytics roadmap initiatives by:

  • Eliciting, analysing and documenting business and data requirements;
  • Developing user stories, functional specifications and acceptance criteria;
  • Coordinating workshops and stakeholder sessions to clarify needs and resolve issues;
  • Supporting system testing, integration testing and UAT for dashboards, reports and analytics solutions;
  • Producing test cases, user guides and training materials to support adoption;
  • Acting as a liaison between business users and technical teams;
  • Maintaining high-quality documentation aligned to agreed standards; and
  • Providing regular progress updates to the Program Manager.

About You

You are a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst with over four years of experience in data and analytics environments, bringing strong skills in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, testing, and delivering high-quality documentation to support data-driven initiatives.

You will possess:

  • A relevant degree with 4+ years’ experience (or equivalent) in business analysis;
  • Experience in data analytics or information management environments (higher education desirable);
  • Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation and testing;
  • Confidence working with diverse stakeholders and facilitating workshops;
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Knowledge of project and program delivery methodologies; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Project).
