The Opportunity

As part of the Discipline of Nursing, you will play a key role in shaping the clinical learning experience for our nursing students, supporting them to become confident, job-ready graduates. Working closely with the Nursing leadership team, you will train and support clinical facilitators, collaborate with clinical course coordinators, and foster strong relationships across health settings. Central to the role is developing and maintaining strategic health partnerships that strengthen and expand our work-integrated learning opportunities, ensuring high-quality clinical placements and outstanding student outcomes.

You will

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and make effective, independent contributions to student learning and graduate outcomes;
  • Support the facilitation of quality clinical education across simulated, telehealth, and internal or external placement settings;
  • Actively engage in School and University activities that enhance the student experience; and
  • Develop and maintain productive external partnerships that benefit students, the community, and the University through industry engagement and outreach activities.

About you:

You will bring strong clinical nursing experience and a genuine commitment to delivering a supportive, high-quality learning experience for students. You will thrive in a positive, collaborative academic environment and actively contribute to a culture of excellence for both staff and students.

You will possess:

  • Completion of a master’s qualification in a relevant field is preferred;
  • Registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
  • Proven effectiveness in clinical teaching, evidenced by student feedback, peer review, and/or student outcomes;
  • Experience in delivering quality clinical education across multiple settings (e.g., clinical, simulated, and telehealth);
  • Strong interpersonal and collegial skills that contribute to a positive academic culture.
  • Engagement in professional development activities and a willingness to continue learning; and
  • Membership or affiliation with relevant professional bodies and links to industry or community groups.

Desirable

  • Experience undertaking academic administrative functions, such as course coordination, within a university.
