The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in fostering a culture of philanthropy across the university, serving as the first point of contact for donors who wish to contribute through our regular giving programs. Collaborating with the Philanthropy and Marketing and Communications teams, you’ll help deliver a successful annual tax-time appeal that retains valued supporters and welcomes new donors. Working alongside the Advancement Services team, you’ll also design meaningful stewardship and engagement initiatives that celebrate donor generosity and strengthen their ongoing connection with the university.

You will

  • Act as the primary contact for regular giving donor enquiries and renewals.
  • Coordinate the annual tax-time appeal for the purpose of growing the donor pipeline.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with current UniSC donors.

About you

You are a confident and skilled relationship-builder with exceptional interpersonal and leadership abilities, adept at engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, including prominent contributors. You exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and navigate complex, fast-paced environments with ease. You naturally influence and build credibility with key stakeholders across the University and broader community. With strong communication and organisational skills, you craft clear, persuasive proposals and manage multiple priorities seamlessly.

You will possess:

  • Completion of a relevant qualification with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in a fundraising or business development/innovation environment and/or education/training;
  • A commitment to the ethical fundraising standards and an optimistic and positive approach towards philanthropy;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Effective relationship management and teamwork skills including tact, diplomacy, judgement and the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders;
  • The ability to influence, negotiate, and engage with potential donors and the capacity to take initiative and operate independently when required;
  • Excellent organisational, time management and project management skills including the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining an attention to detail;
  • Experience in stewardship, financial and general administration, including experience in using databases and the Microsoft office suite of products; and
  • Experience with APIs – PeopleSoft, Technology One, Raiser’s Edge NXT is preferrable.
