Nature and scope of engagement

Working under the direction of UniSC's International Business Development Manager, the Regional Manager for Europe (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) supports the delivery of agreed recruitment, stakeholder engagement and market development activities across Europe with a focus on Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The role requires a high degree of professionalism, self-management and accountability in planning and delivering in-market activities, recruitment of students and providing market intelligence to inform UniSC's international operations.

The Regional Manager for Europe operates as UniSC's local presence within the region and is expected to exercise sound judgement, initiative and cultural awareness when representing the University and engaging with external stakeholders.

Services and deliverables

Services and deliverables for this role include:

1. Regional market development and representation

  • Contribute to the achievement of UniSC’s Europe regional growth objectives through strategic market positioning, partner engagement and execution of regional plans targeting Germany, Austria and Switzerland as a priority.
  • Strengthen UniSC’s presence by identifying and advancing sustainable recruitment channels, institutional partnerships, articulation pathways and transnational education opportunities.
  • Provide high-quality market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making, including insights on student demand, competitor activity, partner performance and regulatory developments.
  • Represent UniSC in-market with professionalism, cultural awareness and strong alignment to institutional priorities and brand.

2. Student recruitment, conversion and pipeline growth

  • Generate and sustain a pipeline of qualified prospective students aligned with priority programs, markets and intakes through partner networks and targeted engagement.
  • Drive conversion outcomes across the recruitment lifecycle, from enquiry through to enrolment, through effective partner collaboration and follow-up strategies.
  • Contribute to the delivery of recruitment targets through proactive lead nurturing, partner coordination and alignment with campaign activity.
  • Support the continuous improvement of conversion performance through insights, feedback and targeted interventions with agents and partners.

3. Lead generation and marketing contribution

  • Contribute to lead generation strategies across Europe, including partner-led initiatives, campaigns and institutional collaborations.
  • Support the localisation and optimisation of marketing assets to ensure relevance and impact across Europe.
  • Provide market-informed input into campaign design, messaging and channel selection to enhance engagement and brand visibility.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and recruitment teams to maximise campaign effectiveness and return on investment.

4.      Stakeholder and partner performance

  • Establish and maintain high-performing relationships with education agents, institutions, pathway providers and key stakeholders across the region.
  • Enable partner success through training, briefings, resource provision and ongoing engagement to support effective promotion of UniSC programs.
  • Monitor and inform improvements in partner performance, ensuring alignment with UniSC priorities and regional strategy.
  • Act as a trusted in-country representative, strengthening UniSC’s reputation and partnership network.

5. Pipeline management, insights and reporting

  • Maintain oversight of the student pipeline to ensure timely progression, responsiveness and alignment to key intake timelines.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting on recruitment activity, pipeline performance, partner contribution and emerging opportunities or risks.
  • Use data and insights to inform planning, strengthen partner performance and support evidence-based decision-making.

6. Operational delivery and execution

  • Deliver recruitment, engagement and partnership development activities in accordance with agreed regional plans, timelines and budgets
  • Ensure effective coordination of in-market activities, partner engagement and institutional initiatives to support strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement, prioritisation and initiative in managing competing demands across markets and time zones.

7. Compliance, governance and risk management

  • Ensure all activities align with UniSC policies, regulatory requirements (including ESOS and the National Code) and ethical standards.
  • Maintain data integrity, confidentiality and compliance with privacy and information security requirements.
  • Identify and escalate risks, compliance concerns or partner-related issues to the International Business Development Manager.

8. Professional contribution and team collaboration

  • Contribute positively to team performance, cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of UniSC programs, strategy and student experience to support accurate and consistent representation.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability and a commitment to delivering outcomes aligned with organisational goals.
  • Work flexibly, including outside local business hours where required, to support recruitment activities across multiple time zones and peak periods.
  • Undertake other duties, projects and activities as reasonably requested by the International Business Development Manager.
  • Support recruitment and engagement activities outside the primary regional portfolio as required.
  • Regular travel within Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and occasional travel across Europe, may be required.
  • Periodic travel to Australia may be required to support planning, training and team engagement.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should meet the following knowledge, skills and experience

  1. A degree qualification with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional expertise.
  2. Demonstrated specialist knowledge and practical experience in international student recruitment, admissions and marketing practices, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant institutional, government and regulatory requirements.
  3. Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue recruitment opportunities while building credibility, influence and trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders across international and cross-cultural environments, including representing an organisation effectively in remote, globally dispersed contexts.
  4. Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively to multi-channel and digital marketing and recruitment activities, including nurture marketing and market-specific recruitment plans.
  5. Proven ability to meet deadlines, achieve targets and resolve issues with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative, accountability and self-motivation.
  6. Demonstrated proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) systems and other business technologies, including the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure data quality, integrity and compliance with privacy obligations.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, professionalism and integrity, including the ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information in accordance with privacy, data protection and organisational requirements.
  8. Demonstrated ability to identify emerging issues, operational risks or stakeholder concerns and escalate matters appropriately to support effective decision-making.
  9. Fluency in German, or another language relevant to the regions of responsibility, will be highly regarded.

Employment Arrangement – Employer of Record

UniSC engages an Employer of Record (EOR) service provider, Remote, to facilitate the local employment of this role in compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations in the country of engagement.

If successful, you will be formally employed by Remote as the legal employer, while performing your duties exclusively for UniSC under UniSC’s direction and operational requirements. This arrangement enables UniSC to employ staff in international markets while ensuring full compliance with local labour law, payroll, taxation, benefits administration and statutory employment obligations.

Your day-to-day work, reporting lines, responsibilities and performance expectations will be set by UniSC. Remote will manage employment-related administration including employment contracts, payroll processing, statutory entitlements and other local employment compliance requirements.

This structure ensures you receive locally compliant employment arrangements while being fully integrated into UniSC’s International Office and operating as a key member of the University’s global recruitment team.
