The Opportunity

Join UniSC’s growing Clinical Trials team in a leadership role where you will guide and support a team of Senior Coordinators, Coordinators and Associates to successfully deliver high-quality clinical trials. In this role, you will oversee complex studies and ensure they are conducted in line with ICH/GCP, UniSC Clinical Trials SOPs and all relevant regulatory requirements. Combining strong analytical thinking, sound judgement and deep knowledge of clinical research processes, you will play a key role in driving successful trial outcomes while contributing to the continued growth and impact of UniSC’s clinical trials portfolio.

Please note, this role requires flexibility to travel to different clinical trial sites as needed, and to work outside standard business hours to support confinement studies and other time-sensitive trial activities. You may also be required to participate in a 24/7 on-call or confinement roster.

You will

  • Manage a team of Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator, Coordinators and Associates of designated clinical trials.
  • Manage the implementation and conduct of clinical research, and designated clinical trial teams, in accordance with the appropriate quality standards including ICH/GCP, UniSC CT SOPs, and applicable regulations, rules and guidance.
  • Collaborative with the CT team, sponsors, and monitors to ensure the successful conduct and timely completion of clinical trials.

About you

You are an organised and motivated professional with experience in clinical research or clinical trial coordination. You bring a strong understanding of clinical research practices, ethics and regulatory requirements, including ICH-GCP, and recognise the importance of maintaining participant confidentiality and health information privacy. You are confident using a range of digital systems and databases, with strong attention to detail in managing documentation and trial processes. A collaborative team member, you are equally comfortable working independently and contributing within a multidisciplinary environment.

You will possess:

  • Completion of a degree qualification in Health Science/Bio-Medicine or related field and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training. Note: Registered Nurses must have current registration with AHPRA and meet the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia professional standards;
  • Experience in clinical trial coordination/clinical research;
  • Demonstrated experience, expertise and broad knowledge in ethics/regulatory affairs frameworks;
  • Detailed knowledge of clinical research practices, including an understanding of the contractual and ethical obligations of clinical trials, and International Council Harmonisation Guideline for Good Clinical Practice and applicable regulations;
  • High level computing skills (including databases, clinical trial electronic data entry, word processing and spreadsheets);
  • Sound understanding of privacy principals governing health information; and
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
