The Opportunity

School of Education and Tertiary Access: Empowering students for positive change - be part of our dynamic community!

At the School of Education and Tertiary Access, we are a dynamic community of educators, students, and researchers committed to excellence in education, outdoor environmental studies, and tertiary access pathways. As part of our close-knit team, you'll have the opportunity to empower students to become influential leaders and advocates, driving positive change both locally and globally. With strong ties to public and independent schools in the region, your involvement in developing and delivering impactful programs for pre-service teachers will be instrumental in shaping the future of education. Your research will make a real-world impact, contributing to our legacy of quality studies and mentorship.

We’re looking for a Level C academic to join our Teacher Education team at UniSC. In this role, you’ll contribute to shaping the next generation of educators and researchers through your expertise in curriculum and pedagogy. You’ll teach and coordinate courses in person and online, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: Indigenous Studies, Mathematics or Science, supporting early childhood, primary and secondary education. You’ll bring a strong understanding of teaching performance assessment, classroom practice and scholarly approaches to learning and teaching. With a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field, you’ll also contribute to the school’s research activity by developing your own research profile, collaborating on projects, and supervising higher degree research students. This is a great opportunity for someone who values thoughtful, student-centred teaching and wants to grow their academic career in a supportive team environment.

You're comfortable working across modes, open to new ideas and driven by impact. Most importantly, you’re excited by the opportunity to make a difference in the classroom, in your field and in the lives of the people we serve.

You will possess:

  • Experience contributing to the academic life of a university, including course or program coordination.
  • Strong connections with your profession or community, and a commitment to meaningful engagement beyond the university.
  • A genuine interest in continuous learning and growth as an academic, with a history of participating in professional development.
