The Opportunity

At UniSC, data is more than information, it is a strategic asset shaping the future of education. As the university enters a new era of data-driven transformation, the Insights and Analytics Unit is leading the charge in delivering enterprise-wide analytics capability.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Data Analytics, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling modern data and business intelligence solutions. You will contribute to a university-wide analytics roadmap that enables smarter decisions, improves performance, and enhances the student and staff experience.

Working across a complex and distributed organisation, you will partner with stakeholders to deliver high-value data products, from robust pipelines and data models through to impactful dashboards and visualisations. This is a rare opportunity to shape an institution’s data capability at scale while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

You will

  • design and deliver scalable data pipelines, integrations, and warehouse solutions that enable enterprise-wide analytics;
  • partner with stakeholders across the university to deliver high-value data solutions and enhance data maturity; and
  • strengthen and modernise the data environment through governance, quality controls, and adoption of new technologies

About you

You are a technically strong and commercially minded data professional who enjoys solving complex problems and delivering impactful analytics solutions. You bring a blend of engineering capability and stakeholder engagement skills, allowing you to translate data into meaningful outcomes.

You are naturally curious, proactive, and comfortable working across a broad stakeholder group. You thrive in environments where you can influence, innovate, and continuously improve how data is used.

You will possess:

  • Strong experience in data warehousing
  • Proven capability in Azure data tools such as Data Factory, Synapse, and related data engineering technologies
  • Advanced SQL and programming capability in languages such as Python or PowerShell
  • Experience designing and building ETL pipelines and modern data architectures
    Knowledge of data governance, data quality, security, and privacy practices
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholders
  • Experience managing competing priorities and contributing to complex project delivery
