We're seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy – Clinical Education at UniSC Sunshine Coast campus. In this role, you'll educate and support students to develop their clinical skills and undertake professional placements, collaborating with a dynamic team to enhance our placement program and cultivate new opportunities. You'll engage with professionals across various disciplines to foster interprofessional learning experiences and connect with occupational therapists in diverse sectors and communities. About you:

Our ideal candidate brings together strong subject matter expertise and pedagogical skills with excellent communication abilities, a passion for teaching, and a student-centered focus. They're committed to employing innovative teaching methods and understanding pedagogical principles to enhance student learning outcomes. They'll create a nurturing learning environment, and foster positivity. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, they'll actively engage within the university community, contributing to governance and enhancing the student experience. Furthermore, they'll develop valuable industry and community connections that benefit both students and external partners. This may include consultancies and outreach activities aimed at promoting participation in university life. Embracing continuous professional development, they'll actively seek opportunities to expand their knowledge and remain current in their field.

You will possess:

  • effectiveness as a teacher, which is evidenced by student feedback and the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
  • membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies, community groups and/or in professional practice and evidence of leading development of new partnerships;
  • strong personal qualities and collegial approaches that contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to high levels of engagement and standards of achievement for both staff and students; and
  • evidence of participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic.
